ITE hearing aid advice in the Freiburg area
There have been so-called for a long time In-the-ear hearing aids (ITE)which are only inserted into the auricle.
With a classic Behind-the-ear device the actual hearing aid sits behind the ear. It is connected to an earpiece or silicon cup with a tube/cable to transmit the hearing aid signal. At a I do all the technology is built into the device that is used in the ear. Due to the constantly evolving technology, it is possible to connect a remote control or a TV connector (wireless transmission of the TV signal to the hearing aids) with the small hearing aids in the ear.
A few factors decide whether such a compact and in-the-ear hearing aid should be implemented:
- the need for hearing (with very severe hearing impairments, these devices cannot generate the required volume)
- the anatomy (the auricle and ear canal must provide enough space to allow the device to be built)
- the usability (a small hearing aid should be easy / well usable by the customer
Here we have an example of a customer from a recent fitting (see pictures). The hearing aids are very discreet and deliver a great sound. Our customer tries 2 pairs of different ones in-the-ear devices, once by the company Philips and by Phonak. Both pairs of hearing systems are compact and therefore very unobtrusive in everyday life. Now it comes down to sound and listening comfort. After a sufficient test phase, the customer decides which of the hearing systems she likes better. The handling and the overall design are also decisive factors for the fitting of hearing aids.
